In the spirit of the season, I wanted to share my favorite releases of the year. Not exhaustive, just some personal highlights. Happy holidays and a happy new year!
Thanks and Happy New Year. I was hoping you would still have time / energy / interest for your traditional look back at the ‘year that was’. I’ve really missed your recommendations.
We are getting to a point where you are posting records from my youth. It’s interesting to me seeing what a person who’s taste I trust for recommendations of records that I don’t know, and is from a different place and time than me, feels is notable among the records I grew up with.
There are couple I thought I actively dislike that I am going to try again after thirty years.
Just discovered this site (how did it take me so long?). You’ve posted some great albums over the years. Though zippyshare is no longer (RIP) so I can’t download anything, there are so many interesting albums I can still discover on here. Thanks.
This blog is dead. There has been no activity for a whole year and not even the traditional favourite releases of the year. What’s happened? It’s a pity. RIP Listen To This blog.
Thank you for all the work! I discovered this blog around its inception and I have to credit it for amazing artists that I discovered. Appreciate it.
Maybe one day it’ll return.
Forgot to say, happy belated New Year of 2024.
It turns out I discovered the blog circa 2016 when I was almost 18. It got me into some obscure artists that at the time I didn’t know and would have never heard if it weren’t for Jen’s recommendations. I didn’t follow the posts too closely but still checked back in from time to time.
I hope Jen’s doing well. I wish all the happiness in the world to her and everyone here 🙂
It’s back!
Interesting selection as always. Here’s 3 more:
Orb – U.F.Orb
The Future Sound Of London – Accelerator
Spiritualized – Lazer Guided Melodies
Thanks! Happy new year!

Thank you!

Dear Jen,
I’d love to get the Priscilla Ermel – Campo De Sonhos album if you’re happy to update the (dead) link.
I can send you her Origens Da Luz album if you don’t already have it.
Many thanks!

I thought this year might be the one we didn’t get a post. Absolutely understand that things move on, but I do miss LtT a great deal.
Thanks for all the hard work you have put in over the years, and I hope that maybe we might still get the very occasional post in the future.
(A belated) happy new year to you and yours.
